Card credit

Card credit is money kept for your cards. It is used first, automatically, on your next new card or top-up.

Why you might have card credit

To issue or top up a card, we first send the money to our card issuer. If the card action then fails, the issuer keeps the money in your card account. It is still yours: we show it as card credit.

How it is used

  • Your next top-up uses card credit first, in full. Only the rest comes from your balance.
  • A new card uses card credit for the part of its price that the card itself is charged for; the rest of the card price comes from your balance. Any credit left over stays for your top-ups.
  • The quote shows how much card credit is applied and what comes from your balance.
  • You do not need to do anything.

What card credit cannot do

It cannot be withdrawn or used for eSIMs. It can only be spent on your Orbits Cards cards.

Where to see it

On Wallet, under your balance, as Card credit.

Example

A top-up of $206.00 failed after we had sent $200.00 to the issuer. You see: “Your top-up did not complete. $200.00 is kept as card credit and will be used first on your next card or top-up. $6.00 is back in your balance.” Your next top-up of $300.00 uses the $200.00 card credit plus $100.00 from your balance, plus the fee.
